My wife and I just finished watching the first season (three episodes) of the BBC’s Sherlock. Initially, I wasn’t so sure about a modern-era Sherlock Holmes, but I really enjoyed it…and I’m looking forward to season two.

Benedict Cumberbatch (wow, that is an incredibly British name) is an interesting, prickly Holmes (and can sound just like Alan Rickman) and Martin Freeman (Tim from The Office [BBC] and Bilbo in next year’s The Hobbit) is great as Dr. Watson.

I highly recommend it. It’s funny…and mysterious.

Wil, I’ve been on an extended break from blogging this summer, but I noticed this post of yours in my feeder. This evening I watched the first episode with my daughter. It was brilliant! Three episodes = one season? That’s not so good.

Just noticed your comment. Not sure what’s going on with my notifications. I haven’t been receiving them.

But yeah, it’s great, isn’t it? Season 2’s coming up, but sadly, it’s only three episodes as well.

Blogging just isn’t what it used to be. So many distractions…Twitter, Facebook, life.

I too have taken an extended break from blogging this summer but am now just getting back to reading blogs. Anyway, this sounds like a great show. The Mister and I are watching the original series of The Prisoner and I think this should be our next TV endeavour. Three episodes a seasons sounds great to me! : )

    Hey melanie,

I’m not familiar with The Prisoner. Looks interesting.

I think Sherlock strikes a good mix of wit/mystery/adventure. I hope you like it!
